Light brightness, color imitation sunshine cycle

The new hospital lighting system Philips is developing, while not allowing patients to progress much faster, uses a series of LED light fixtures to create a natural solar cycle system. In a windowless room, patients are provided with a more comfortable and warm environment to help patients sleep at night.

In 2013, Philips produced the "Hue" smart home lighting system, which emits 16 different colors and has 16 million different colors. According to the report of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, USA, adjusting the light of suitable color tone can make people concentrate and relieve stress.

The doctor can manually adjust the brightness to fit the job

Philips introduced the system to the Children's Hospital at the University of Minnesota. The patient or nurse can select different scenes through the computer beside the bed, and the 10 LED light groups in the room will automatically adjust the brightness and color tone. The lights usually follow the time, imitating the sunshine lights, and darken at night. The doctor may also manually adjust the light to suit the patient's brightness if needed.

Patricia Rizzo, head of Philips Lighting, points out that in addition to patient benefits, hospitals can reduce their energy use by 80% in lighting. They will extend the lighting system to more wards and medical facilities. Next Philips will be the adjustable lighting system used in the office.
