Samsung currently has four types of ISOCELL sensors, each with a unique key feature. Samsung today released two new members are designed for fashion smart phones and IoT devices. Among them, the use of dual-pixel technology ISOCELL Fast 2L9 and no built-in dual sensor. In contrast, "double pixel" means that each pixel on the sensor actually has two photodiodes instead of one. Which makes it focus faster, while the 12 million pixel sensor is also very small, Samsung will size from 1.4 microns to 1.28 microns, so that it can adapt to more slim camera module.

ISOCELL, Slim, 2X7, or even smaller, 0.9 m, is the first sensor under 1 m in the market. Still, 2X7 actually has 2 times more pixels than Fast 2L9, and has 24 million pixels. However, Slim 2X7 uses Samsung Tetracell technology to merge data from four adjacent pixels into one to increase sensitivity under low light conditions.

Samsung is positioning these sensors as the perfect solution for ultra-thin smartphones, which are becoming increasingly popular in the marketplace, both high-end and mid-range. Strangely enough, Samsung is also planning to make ISOCELL Slim 2X7 as a great front camera sensor. With its up to 24 million pixel figures, it can even be used in the flagship of Samsung early 2018.
